The Harding Presidents won the last time they faced the Bullard-Havens Tigers, and things went their way on Saturday too. Harding pulled ahead with a 46-45 photo finish over Bullard-Havens.
Harding's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Craig Chandler, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Chandler has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Guillaume Mulenga Jr., who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Harding's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5. As for Bullard-Havens, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Harding's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Seymour knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine contests -- so hopefully Harding likes a good challenge. As for Bullard-Havens, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kaynor Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Kaynor Tech is ranked 160th, while Bullard-Havens is ranked 153rd).
