The Oakley Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Richfield Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Oakley: 27.8, Richfield: 28.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Oakley faced Raft River in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Oakley snuck past Raft River with a 40-36 victory. The victory was just business as usual for Oakley, who after four games remain undefeated this season.
Meanwhile, Richfield entered their tilt with Castleford with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Richfield claimed a resounding 49-21 victory over Castleford at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-15.
Richfield can attribute much of their success to Shelby Jones, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds, and Kasey Hendren, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 steals. The game was Hendren's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 4-0 season records intact.
Everything went Oakley's way against Richfield in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as Oakley made off with a 39-18 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
