The Atascadero Greyhounds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Washington Union Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Atascadero is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Two weeks ago, Atascadero didn't have too much trouble with Pioneer Valley at home as they won 42-24.
Mateo Cano had a dynamite game for Atascadero, rushing for 179 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Kane Cooks, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, Washington Union rose to the challenge on Friday. They took down Templeton 25-7. The win was just what Washington Union needed coming off of a 28-6 defeat in their prior game.
Washington Union's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jason Torres led the charge by throwing for 237 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Decurtis Stroud, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Atascadero has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 10-0 record. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.83 points. As for Washington Union, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.
