The Dos Palos Broncos have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Exeter Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Dos Palos had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 45-28 win over Santa Maria on Thursday.
Dos Palos got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andre Flores out in front who rushed for 143 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Peyton Van worth, who threw for 212 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Exeter put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 45-22 margin over Roosevelt. Exeter pushed the score to 38-14 by the end of the third, a deficit Roosevelt cut but never quite recovered from.
Dos Palos has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points per game. As for Exeter, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.
Everything came up roses for Dos Palos against Exeter when the teams last played back in September of 2021 as the squad secured a 41-0 victory. Will Dos Palos repeat their success, or does Exeter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
