The Westside Seminoles waltzed into Wednesday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Northeast with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. Given Westside's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Northeast is ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Westside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Harden out in front who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The contest was Harden's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Christian Little was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Northeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jatavion Zellner, who scored 14 points. Zellner scored a full 33.3% of Northeast's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kavon Conciauro, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Westside's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Northeast, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Westside will head out on the road to face off against Griffin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northeast won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mary Persons at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Mary Persons focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
