Mexico and Kirksville are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2016, but not for long. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mexico is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 34.8 points per game this season.
Mexico is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Fulton 63-42 on Friday. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mexico to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Demint, who rushed for 208 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Demint really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Charlie Fisher was another key player, rushing for 132 yards and a pair of TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mexico was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 505 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Kirksville was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were dealt a 42-6 loss at the hands of Hannibal.
Mexico's record now sits at 4-2. As for Kirksville, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3.
