The Kim/Branson Mustangs entered their tilt with the Walsh Eagles with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Kim/Branson slipped by Walsh 56-55 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kim/Branson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Gamez, who scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Gamez scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Rosas, who scored six points along with five assists and two steals.
The victory got Kim/Branson back to even at 6-6. As for Walsh, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kim/Branson won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eads at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. Hopefully Eads focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday. Walsh on the road again on Tuesday and play against Deerfield on January 30th. Hopefully Deerfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
