La Canada is 9-1 against Monrovia since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Spartans will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. La Canada is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
La Canada will bounce into Friday's match after beating Temple City, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Rams on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.
Bentley Lebrecque made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Ava Perry was a standout: she scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caitlin Yee, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Monrovia was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Pasadena.
Mackenzie Delgado made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Monrovia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for La Canada, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5-1.
Monrovia's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. La Canada has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Monrovia, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 strikeouts. Will La Canada keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
