Gooding hasn't had much luck against Kimberly recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Senators will challenge the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gooding comes in on three and Kimberly on nine.
On Wednesday, Gooding earned a 13-9 victory over Filer.
Mady Morris was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Emma Day, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Gooding kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Kimberly beat Buhl 6-1 on Wednesday.
Mallory Kelsey made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Cann, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Kimberly pushed their record up to 19-2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gooding, their record now sits at 13-6.
Both Gooding and Kimberly just can't seem to miss. The Senators have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Kimberly struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gooding suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Kimberly in their previous matchup last Monday. Can the Senators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
