Lake Norman Charter found their leader in sophomore Abby Courtney, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine steals. With that strong performance, Courtney is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Reece Long was another key player, going 6 for 13 on her way to 22 points and five boards.
Lake Norman Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Robinson entered their tilt with South Rowan on Thursday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 65-35 win over the Raiders. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Raiders are ranked 441st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lake Norman Charter better keep an eye on Camri Hobbs. She was instrumental in Robinson's win, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hobbs has scored at least a third of Robinson's points. Another player making a difference was Destiny Chambers, who went 5 of 8 en route to 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals.
Robinson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for Lake Norman Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
