Baseball Recap: Raceland Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Raceland entered their tilt with Fleming County on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Panthers 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Brigham Davidson, who gave up just three hits to keep Fleming County off the board.

At the plate, Raceland got a big performance out of Aidan Shaffer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Shaffer a new career-high. Gunnar Smith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Raceland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fleming County only posted an OBP of .217.

Raceland pushed their record up to 22-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Fleming County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13.

Coming up, Raceland will host Bath County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fleming County, they will head out on the road to square off against Garrard County at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
