Basketball Recap: Dobson Piles Up the Points Against Westwood

Dobson posted their biggest win since December 10, 2024 on Thursday. They breezed by the Westwood Warriors to the tune of 67-36. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dobson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brodi Piluga, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points. Those 14 points gave Piluga a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayah Key, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Dobson was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westwood only posted seven assists.

Westwood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ike Tingey, who went 5 for 6 en route to 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Lee, who had eight points.

Dobson's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-10. As for Westwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Dobson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-44 win against Sunnyside on the 24th. As for Westwood, they will face off against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
