The Pikesville Panthers entered their tilt with the Flowers Jaguars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pikesville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over the Jaguars on Saturday. For Pikesville, this counts as revenge for the 52-46 defeat the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Pikesville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Darielle Weems out in front who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Mariah Jones-Bey, who scored seven points along with five assists and two steals.
Pikesville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Flowers, their loss dropped their record down to 14-1.
Pikesville will head out on the road to take on the at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. New Town is on a six-game streak of home wins, the Panthers a 16-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Flowers will take on the Raiders at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Eleanor Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday.
