Football Recap: Cajon Skates Past St. Lucy's with Ease

Cajon had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed past the St. Lucy's Regents to the tune of 36-0 on Saturday. The Cowboys not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 21, 2024 (when they won 56-18).

Cajon found their leader in freshman Ilene Garcia, who threw for 150 yards and six touchdowns while completing 77.8% of her passes, and also rushed for 78 yards. The Cowboys' leading receiver Vanessa Sepulveda was Garcia's top target yet again, picking up 40 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Cajon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Janiya Zamora and Sepulveda.

Cajon has already played their next contest, a 25-6 victory against Paramount on the 9th. As for St. Lucy's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 32-12 defeat against Valley View on the 9th.
