With a playoff win on the line, Onalaska rose to the challenge on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Middleton Cardinals. The victory was nothing new for the Hilltoppers as they're now sitting on four straight.
Onalaska never let Middleton on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-23.
Natalie Marso paced Onalaska's offense, picking up nine kills. Marso got some help from Lauren Pica and her 13 assists. Makena Mcgarry and Kendall Carlson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.
Despite the loss, Middleton still got an impressive performance from Elyssa Ross, who had 11 digs and five assists. Ross is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Onalaska's win bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Middleton, with the loss, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 22-13.
Looking ahead, Onalaska will square off against Waunakee on Thursday. Middleton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
