Even though the Hendrick Hudson Sailors have not done well against the Ossining Pride recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hendrick Hudson had just enough and edged Ossining out 56-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hendrick Hudson.
Kaitlyn Raguso was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds. Elyse Smith was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Ossining's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Claire Schnecker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Perriott, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 16 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Ossining were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hendrick Hudson only pulled down 12.
Hendrick Hudson's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Ossining, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hendrick Hudson will take on Briarcliff at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ossining will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Clarkstown South at 6:00 p.m. on December 6th.
