The Humboldt Cubs stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 56-22 win over Eureka on the road. Given Humboldt's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Sam Hull, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below three steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Colden Cook, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Humboldt is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Eureka, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Humboldt will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bullpups. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Caney Valley sitting on three straight victories and the Cubs on four. As for Eureka, they will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Streaks on Friday.
