Beatty and Round Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Beatty Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Round Mountain Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Beatty is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Beatty had to suffer through a rough 62-21 loss at the hands of Spring Mountain. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Beatty in their matchups with Spring Mountain: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Round Mountain had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.2 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Tonopah out 43-40.
Keiran Swafford was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with two steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Marquez Zamora was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and six blocks.
Beatty has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Round Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Beatty was taken down by Round Mountain 54-26 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Beatty avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
