Arroyo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Hayward a 21-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Dons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Sadie Fernandez and Viviana Landeros made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Fernandez struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Landeros struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Fernandez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Fernandez went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Landeros went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Landeros a new career-high.

In other batting news, Arroyo got a massive performance out of Samantha Morgan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Morgan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexia Walker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.
Arroyo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hayward only posted an OBP of .067.
Meanwhile, San Leandro got the win against San Lorenzo on Monday by a conclusive 11-0. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Arroyo's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for San Leandro, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.
Arroyo came out on top in a nail-biter against San Leandro in their previous matchup on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Dons repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
