The Conrad Chargers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 44-20 loss at the hands of Spruce. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Conrad in their matchups with Spruce: they've now lost eight in a row.
Conrad's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marcus Johnson, who rushed for 81 yards on only nine carries, and also caught a touchdown.
Conrad's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Seagoville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63% over those games). As for Spruce, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conrad will take on Samuell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spruce, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m.
