Softball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Glide

Glide had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past the Sutherlin Bulldogs 16-4. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ella Weber was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Weber was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Moyers, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Molly Kercher was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Glide kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Glide's record is now 8-1. As for Sutherlin, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
