Given Plantation's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Hallandale is ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Plantation was led to victory by Daterrius Heller and Jabari Washington. Heller scored 18 points along with six rebounds, while Washington scored 18 points. Washington has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played.
Plantation's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Hallandale, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Plantation won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against McArthur at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Hallandale, they will head out on the road to take on Pembroke Pines Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pembroke Pines Charter has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,410 points over their last 19 games.
