The Hays Indians will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Abilene Cowboys at 8:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Hays humbled Liberal with a 66-32 victory. Given Hays' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Liberal is ranked 198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Abilene entered their tilt with Wamego with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Abilene came out on top against Wamego by a score of 53-45 on Friday.
Hays is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Abilene, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Hays strolled past Abilene when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 60-44. Will Hays repeat their success, or does Abilene have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
