Softball Recap: Centennial Wins Going Away Against West Mesa

Centennial won the last time they faced West Mesa and things went their way on Saturday too. The Hawks blew past the Mustangs 15-1. Fans of the Hawks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

The team relied heavily on Kendra Martinez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Centennial's record now sits at 3-0. As for West Mesa, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Centennial will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
