The Greenback Cherokees were the 56-47 winner over the Oliver Springs Bobcats when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Greenback suffered a tough 60-35 defeat at the hands of Oliver Springs on Monday. Greenback has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Greenback's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elizabeth Davis, who scored 12 points. Davis scored a full 34.3% of Greenback's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emory McDonell, who scored 9 points.
Greenback's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Oliver Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenback will square off against Tellico Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Tellico Plains' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. Oliver Springs won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harriman at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Harriman is ranked 271st, while Oliver Springs is ranked 270th).
