If the New Milford Knights were feeling good off their 64-26 takedown of the Palisades Park Tigers on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. New Milford fell just short of Ridgefield Park by a score of 38-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Milford has scored all season.
New Milford's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Johnson, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Luis Placido, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
New Milford struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
New Milford's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Ridgefield Park, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Milford will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Bergen Charter at 6:30 p.m. on January 15th. As for Ridgefield Park, they will challenge Ferris at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
