With a playoff win on the line, Goose Creek rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-38 victory over the Socastee Braves. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Goose Creek was led to victory by Madeline Dates and Celeste Griffin. Dates on her way to 14 points, while Griffin posted 12 points.
Socastee lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Rylee Minehart, who to rack up 14 points. Another player making a difference was Trinity Sumpter, who put up six points and 12 boards.
Goose Creek's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Socastee, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.
Coming up, Goose Creek will take on Berkeley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkeley will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Goose Creek surely won't give up without a fight. Socastee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
