Basketball Recap: Springdale Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Springdale, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Westminster Academy Lions by a score of 69-58 on Friday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Arkansas, while the Lions are ranked 64th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Westminster Academy still got an impressive performance from Alex Constanza, who went 11 for 15 on his way to 25 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 43.1% of Westminster Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Lloyd, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 22 points.

Springdale pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Westminster Academy, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Springdale didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-47 victory against Bellaire on the 28th. As for Westminster Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-59 win against Benton on the 28th.
