Baseball Recap: Ruskin Christian's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ruskin Christian came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Hernando Christian Academy Lions. Considering the Warriors have won five games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Reese Fagan was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Zach Pepper and Johnielle Milian did most of the damage at the plate: Pepper went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Milian scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Robert Quinones Jr. was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Ruskin Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Ruskin Christian's record is now 7-2-1. As for Hernando Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Ruskin Christian will face off against First Baptist Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hernando Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Real Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raptors have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
