Americas has gone 6-0 against Horizon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Americas Trail Blazers will take on the Horizon Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Americas saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 56-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin. The Trail Blazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 63-30, which was the final score in Horizon's tilt against El Dorado last Friday. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1312th, while the Aztecs are ranked 629th).

Americas' loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Horizon, they dropped their record down to 5-13 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for Americas against Horizon in their previous meeting back in November, as the team secured a 60-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Americas since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
