Reeltown is 3-0 against the Bulldogs since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Reeltown Rebels will look to defend their home court against the Holtville Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Reeltown has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
Reeltown pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-62 to Central of Coosa County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Reeltown in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Finn Henderson, who scored 26 points. Ja'Markius Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Reeltown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central of Coosa County only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Holtville was the victim of a rough 62-41 defeat at the hands of the Rebels on Tuesday. Holtville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Reeltown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Holtville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14.
Reeltown strolled past the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 51-35. Does Reeltown have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
