V Section I recap November 5, 2013
Brenton Goldtooth of Tuba City ran for the longest rushing play in V Section I this season against Red Mesa last week. Goldtooth ran for 86 yards on the play and finished with 343 on the day as his team defeated the Redskins.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Hopi beat Rock Point 56-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Tuba City's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Roland Becenti threw for 117 and 2 touchdowns and Sergio Oliver had 81 yards receiving. On the ground Goldtooth chipped in 343 yards. Brandon Troglia helped Tuba City's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 38 yards.
Goldtooth was a passing and rushing force as Rick Benjamin's team beat Red Mesa. Goldtooth's favorite target this week was Oliver, who caught 4 passes for 81 yards.
Goldtooth was a beast in the backfield as the Warriors defeated Toqua-Hanai Ticeahkieand's team.
Oliver was the best receiver in the league this week as Tuba City defeated the Redskins. Troglia helped Tuba City's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 38 yards.
Tuba City's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Becenti has thrown for 1,318 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Jeremy Yazzie has 19 catches for 540 yards.
The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,061 from 13,319. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 53-26 victory over Red Mesa last week.
