Khloe Kline spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Bridgette Stapleton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sami Bamer, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for South Point, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
On South Point's side, Kota Copley was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. That's the most strikeouts Copley has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaylee Stidham, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Natilyn Spears was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rock Hill will square off against rival Fairland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, South Point is set to face off against their familiar foe Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
