Kaylin Brazie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Taconic Hills got a massive performance out of Mia Shumpsky, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Shumpsky has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Bleau, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Germantown didn't have quite enough to beat Maple Hill on Thursday and fell 4-3. The Clippers have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Germantown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Dodge, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Mia Schmidt was another, earning two runs and one stolen base.
Taconic Hills' win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Germantown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Taconic Hills hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. It's a different story for Germantown, though, as they've only averaged .211. Will they be able to contain Taconic Hills' hitters?
