The Edisto Cougars lost against the Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Edisto took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgeland-Hardeeville. Edisto has struggled against Ridgeland-Hardeeville recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Edisto lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trinity Wade. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. Chyna Myers was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Jaden Exley was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with four steals for Ridgeland-Hardeeville. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Exley has scored at least a third of Ridgeland-Hardeeville's points. Another player making a difference was Denasia Haynes, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and five steals.
Edisto dropped their record down to 5-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Woodland the next time they take the court. Ridgeland-Hardeeville will head out to face Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Edisto will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
