The La Veta Redhawks will face off against the Sierra Grande Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Veta is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
On Saturday, La Veta was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-41 to Cheraw. While the Redhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolverines 12-6 in the first quarter.

The losing side was boosted by Aspen Autry, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and seven assists. Those eight rebounds gave her a new career-high. Jaiden Goemmer was another key player, putting up six points.
Meanwhile, Sierra Grande entered their game against Sargent on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Sierra Grande fell 45-34 to Sargent.
Defeat or not, Sierra Grande got some senior leadership from Yazmin Molina and Jaylyn Quezada. Molina had eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Quezada earned ten points and four steals. Quezada has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played.
Even though they lost, Sierra Grande smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.
Sierra Grande's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for La Veta, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: La Veta has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Sierra Grande struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
