Excelsior Charter had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. On Friday, they came up short against The Webb Schools, falling 20-34.
No one had a larger role in the success than senior JJ Cunningham, who brought his A game into the match. He caught passes for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Excelsior Charter off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving The Webb Schools a 1-0 record.
Next week, Excelsior Charter take on St. Margaret's at Saturday game at 7:00 PM. As for The Webb Schools, they will face of against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy.
