Adding to the longest winning streak in Pioneer this week, Pottsgrove beat Perkiomen Valley 23-12. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Spring-Ford took down Owen J. Roberts 47-3 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jarred Jones ran for 184 yards and caught 1 pass for 27 yards during the win.
The Rams' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zac DeMedio threw for 83 and 1 touchdown and Gary Hopkins had 47 yards receiving. On the ground Jones contributed 184 yards. Brandon Barone helped Spring-Ford's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 48 yards.
Jones provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Spring-Ford topped the Wildcats.
DeMedio put up the best numbers in passing as Chad Brubaker's team topped Owen J. Roberts.
Spring-Ford's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brandon Leacraft has thrown for 751 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Hopkins has 20 catches for 422 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pottsgrove takes on Boyertown. As it stands, Rick Pennypacker's team is in first, while the Bears are in fourth.
Phoenixville made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,360 from 7,761. The improvement was largely due to a 21-0 victory over Upper Perkiomen last week.
