The Indian Trail Hawks will face off against the Mukwonago Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Indian Trail is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Indian Trail turned things around against Union Grove on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Broncos.
The team relied heavily on Claire Giese, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Sadie Koci was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Mukwonago was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-10 heartbreaker at the hands of Loyola Academy.
Mukwonago got a massive performance out of Jordan Chatham, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Liv Eckert, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Mukwonago's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Indian Trail, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
Mukwonago's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Indian Trail has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Mukwonago, though, as they've been averaging 12.5 hits. Given Indian Trail's sizable advantage in that area, the Indians will need to find a way to close that gap.
Indian Trail got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2018 against Mukwonago by a conclusive 10-1 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
