Sadly, the Marlboro County Bulldogs are still looking for their first win of the season after 18 matches. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 67-50 to Lake City. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Marlboro County of the 47-36 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Taniyah Hairston and Serenity Bethea certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hairston scored 11 points, while Bethea scored ten points.
Lake City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hannah Riles, who scored 25 points along with two steals. Riles is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Jada Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Marlboro County dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Lake City, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14.
Marlboro County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lake City also has no future games currently scheduled.
