The Prairie Mustangs can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 49-14 win over North Park at home. The result was nothing new for Prairie, who have now won three contests by 35 points or more so far this season.
Prairie was led to victory by Justin Schreiner and Brennan Bringelson. Schreiner rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while Bringelson rushed for 135 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Bringelson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 69 yards.
When it comes to explaining why North Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Pittington. Despite the final result, he rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.
Prairie's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for North Park, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Prairie will head out on the road to face off against Hi-Plains at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hi-Plains is on a three-game streak of home losses, Prairie a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. North Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
