Basketball Recap: Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Sofia Levine and Gabby Sosland

If Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy was feeling good fresh off their 41-18 takedown of Frontier STEM last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy Rams fell 51-40 to the Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri Crusaders on Thursday. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-36 back in December of 2024.

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Gabby Sosland and Sofia Levine. Sosland posted 17 points, while Levine scored 13 points. Sosland's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Midland Adventist Academy the next time they take the court. Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy will host Midland Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
