Baseball Recap: Odyssey Charter Comes Up Short

Odyssey Charter couldn't beat Tatnall on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Owls fell 11-8 to the Hornets. The Owls were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Dante Begatto and Cayden Cutillo did some serious damage despite the final result: Begatto got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs, while Cutillo went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Begatto is becoming a predictor of Odyssey Charter's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-6-1 when he doesn't). Troy Reed also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Odyssey Charter and nudges their season record down to 7-7-1. As for Tatnall, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Odyssey Charter will host Seaford at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Tatnall, they will be playing at home against Sanford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
