Softball Recap: Melba Has No Trouble Against Vision

Melba's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on Vision with a sharp 15-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with Vision: they've now won five in a row.

Kali Adams and Dickard Abi made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Adams struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Abi pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Adams got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Abi went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, Analyse Durham was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kodi Adams, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Melba was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vision only posted a batting average of .118.

Melba's record is now 5-10. As for Vision, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Melba and Vision will both be playing Parma the next time they take the field. Vision will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mustangs will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
