South Stanly scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 79-78 to the West Stanly Colts. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Colts earlier this season, when they won 63-61.

South Stanly's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Woods, who posted 22 points and three steals. Those 22 points gave Woods a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavyn Miller, who put up 18 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for South Stanly and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for West Stanly, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

South Stanly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-36 victory against Forest Hills on the 3rd. As for West Stanly, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-47 loss against Parkwood on the 3rd.
