The Bountiful RedHawks can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. Everything went their way against Viewmont as Bountiful made off with a 72-49 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Bountiful has posted since November 20, 2023.
Leading Bountiful to victory were Bryson Heath and Charlie Smith. Heath scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Smith went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 3 assists. Smith continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Carson Smith was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
Cache Tuia and Drez Jensen certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Tuia scored 18 points, while Jensen scored ten points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kade Cannon, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Viewmont were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. This was only their seventh loss (out of eight games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Bountiful's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Viewmont, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Bountiful will be playing in front of their home fans against Judge Memorial Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Judge Memorial Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Viewmont, they will head out on the road to challenge Box Elder at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Box Elder has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 3-0 during that stretch of close contests.
