The South Beloit Sobos will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Flanagan/Woodland Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (South Beloit is ranked 14th, while Flanagan/Woodland is ranked eighth).
Last Friday, South Beloit slipped by Christian Life/Keith Country Day/Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy 25-24. The win was just what South Beloit needed coming off of a 42-6 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Flanagan/Woodland entered their tilt with Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Flanagan/Woodland blew past Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon 49-6 on the road. The result was nothing new for Flanagan/Woodland, who have now won five matches by 35 points or more so far this season.
Flanagan/Woodland's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payton Quaintance, who rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Kesler Collins, who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
South Beloit's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Flanagan/Woodland, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
South Beloit was taken down by Flanagan/Woodland 42-6 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can South Beloit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
