OVIEDO, Fla. -
Winter Park (Fla.) extended its winning streak to seven games with a 24-8 victory over
Hagerty (Oviedo, Fla.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by
Rafael Lopes in the second quarter, the Wildcats were up 14-0 at the half.
Winter Park expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. WP scored once in the quarter on a field goal.
Hagerty's only touchdown came on a 4-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats entered the contest giving up 21.5 points per game this year.
The loss comes after Hagerty defeated Bishop Moore 40-12 last week. The loss ended Hagerty's two-game winning streak.
In a 8A District 3 game next week Hagerty (2-5) takes on Timber Creek, and Winter Park (7-0) will go up against Oviedo also in a 8A District 3 game.
