The Stonewall Longhorns will square off against the Riverfield Country Day Ravens at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Saturday, Stonewall took their match at home with ease, bagging a 64-29 win over Strother. Given Stonewall's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Strother is ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Riverfield Country Day really took it to Porum for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-37 victory on the road. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Riverfield Country Day had established a 26 point advantage.
Riverfield Country Day's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braeden Clinton, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Clinton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Max Harper, who scored 17 points.
Stonewall's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34 points. As for Riverfield Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
