Basketball Recap: Mila Miller's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Tampa Christian Academy over Forest

If North Tampa Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 78-24 takedown of Winthrop College Prep Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The North Tampa Christian Academy Titans received a blow on Friday as they fell 48-31 to the Forest Wildcats. The match marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

North Tampa Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mila Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Miller a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jelissa Anderson, who posted four points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Forest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Niyah McCoy, who went 6 of 9 on her way to 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals. McCoy has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Jessica Colon was another key player, going 5 of 7 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

North Tampa Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Forest, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

North Tampa Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-48 defeat against Central Pointe Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Forest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-55 win against Bell Creek Academy on the 21st.
